| Arnie has perfected the horse lover's dream...the Colorado High Country Pack Trip. Ride a couple hours into the most spectacular country you have ever seen and camp next to high mountain lakes, where the trout fishing is excellent. During the day, part of the family can horseback ride while others fish. While you are playing, Red Feather will do all the work-setting up camp, cooking and wrangling. Throughout your vacation, a full time camp cook is provided to ensure three savory, home style meals each day. Red Feather Guides can design your trip to fit your desires and individual schedules. You may ride to a different high country lake every day! |

A favorite of North Park visitors is the horseback rides. Rides into the Mount Zirkle Wilderness Area, Routt National Forest and the Never Summers, Colorado State Park for hourly, 1/2 day, all-day or overnight trips provide an experience you will never forget. Stop for lunch in beautiful mountain meadows overflowing with wildflowers and snap pictures of elk, deer, coyotes, or moose. Steak dinner rides are a specialty, including favorites like toasted marshmallows and s'mores, ending with all the wranglers telling stories over a cozy campfire. You may even hear a howling coyote in the background. The wranglers are great hosts and have a well-trained string of gentle horses that even the most inexperienced of horse-lovers can handle. |
| If you prefer to stay at the main lodge, Red Feather has a plethora of activities for their guests, including fully guided fishing trips on a private lease on the North Platte River. This stream is plentiful with rainbows, browns and brook trout. Guests may also enjoy exploring the hiking trails found within a short distance from Red Feather's Lodge. Accommodations at the lodge include a rustic main house, where meals are enjoyed, and five cozy log cabins, all electrically heated. There is a newly constructed centralized shower-house with private facilities for both men and women. At the end of the day, relax in the hot tub and sauna or kick up your feet and view the elk and moose right from the front porch. |  |
