| The one day program covers all aspects of instruction on general horse care, safety, equipment, saddling and preparation for riding. After the horses are ready, instruction is then focused on the rider. |
| Next, after making sure everyone feels comfortable with their horse and riding ability, we take a break for lunch. After lunch, we drive to the trailhead where the 2-3 hour horseback ride will take place. |
| Following the horseback ride, we will return to Red Feather to unsaddle horses, brush down, feed and take horses back to the pastures. This is an excellent way to introduce the youth to horses and make them feel comfortable around them. We also work with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to qualify them to receive their merit badges and patches in horsemanship. |
Tent camping is available on the property as well as cabins for adults and those not willing to "rough it". The camping and cabins include the use of the shower house, sauna, and hot tub. The camping and cabins are available for an addition charge. Group meals and additional horseback riding can also be arranged. Please feel free to contact The Learning Camp , - (Ann Cathcart 1-970-524-2706). |
